Nothing brings people together than good food @ Barbeque Nation
It was time to bid farewell to one of our calm, composed, hardworking collegue and friend of ours. It was time to wish him the best for his future. The team came together to express our gratitude for all his efforts and his journey with us.
We are a bunch of mix souls at work.We were a dozen with exactly half of us being vegetarian and the other half being pure Non vegetarians 🙂.we had to choose a place that would cater to all of us.The best option would be a place that had a good Indian buffet and the lucky winner was Barbeque nation at Al Barsha.
We were welcomed at the reception and guided to our tables afterwhich we were offered a glass of Pacific blue which is a litchi juice mixed with blue curacoa, lime juice and lemonade a refreshing welcome drink included as part of the buffet.
Choice of Mocktails to choose from: Litchi ,Mango,Orange, lemon and other alternate option was to choose any of the standard areated drinks.
With no delay the grill at the table was set. Each table had 2 squares cut out to fit the skewers.
Starters: A variety of Non vegegetarian favourites like the chicken tikka, mutton sheek kebabs, lebanese fish and barbequed shrimps.
For the vegetarian lovers the starters were barbequed pineapple, watermelon, corn, Paneer, capcicum, crispy fried corn, mushrooms , potato and some other grilled vegetables.
We were almost full stuffing ourselves with the grills but there was more to go.
Live stations and Main course.
Went around and helped myself to make sure I taste a few more dishes.
Mutton dum biryani: the long grained rice was perfectly cooked with a good mix of spices and saffron.
Mutton yakni was delicious and I absoloutely loved it.
Live station: Duck, Turkey, Squids , Sausages and lamb.I managed to try a little bit of all it did taste good. the barbeque grill was on [part of every table, the meat and the vegetables that were offered we marinated and precooked before they were placed on the grill.
The chaat counter: I managed to have pani puri, papdi chaat, bhel puri, sev puri and some more options but I did'nt want to fill my stomach with it hence decided to give it a pass.
Desserts: The Dessert section had quiet a bit to offer. to mention a few like Pastries, Chocolate moose, fruit cake, mix fruits and more.
Freshly made Jalebis, crispy and not very sweeet.
The Gulab jamun was tiny bite sizes nice and soft, I had it with a scoop of vanila and pistachio ice cream.
Kulfi available in 5 flavours , I tried 4 of the 5 flavours namely Mango, Strawberry, Gulkand and Kesar.
The Gulkand with paan flavored topping was the best one for me.The last item I tried was the Kesar kulfi flooda, as expected it was what i call the best of the last.
Customer Service: An overall great experience, the staff was very courteous and friendly.
Buffet is a best option when you have more than 2 people and each one has a their preference , hence you dont have to worry on what you choose from as the menu is set to ensure all are satisfied.
Considering the variety of food and the price offered I will rate it a 4/5.
