Muy Buena Comida "very good food"@ Highway 311 Grill , JLT Cluster Q , Dubai

My food blogging journey has not only amplified my love and passion for food but it has also got me to learn more about the country, culture , people and travel.

Here's a quick question for my blog readers , no checking up google for the answers 😎 Yeah !!!
Whats the first thing that comes to your mind when i say Peru ?
If I have to answer that question I would say Machu Picchu , Lima , Cusco " Inca ruins", Football , Spanish Language and Ceviche "the national dish of Peru" If you said Despacito you are wrong as thats Puerto Rican 😜. So, when I received an invite from the Highway 311 Grill team , Located in JLT cluster Q that specializes in Peruvian cuisine i couldn't resist and i would love to share my experience with my readers.

Here's a list of all that i enjoyed:

Drinks:
Chicha Morada - a peruvian drink which is made from a purple variety of corn mixed with lime , sugar syrup. Its a non alcoholic drink but when served looks like a glass of wine. Recommended 👌
Strawberry Mojito a refreshing drink made of fresh strawberries , sugar syrup , mint leaves and lime.

Appetizers:
Greek Salad: A salad made of tomatoes , cucumbers , onions , Kalmata olives , feta cheese which is then drizzled with a salad dressing of lime.
Greek Salad
Nachos: A generous portion of Tortilla chips topped with cheese , shredded chicken , beans , tomatoes , spring onions again topped with cheese and a dollop of sour cream and guacamole.
The portion for the nachos served is big and could be shared easily by 3 people. Recommended 👊

Spring Rolls: Crispy and flaky on the outside stuffed with fresh vegetables makes the rolls nice and moist when you bite into the roll. Its served with a chilli and mayo sauce.

Mains:
Lomo saltado: Is a Peruvian fusion of a Chinese stir-fry with marinated strips or cubes of beef with a meaty gravy. Its then served what I call east meets west i.e rice and french fries. They do have an option of noodles as well. If you are not a Beef eater the dish is substituted with chicken. In Peru the Lomo Saltato is second to the Ceviche which is the national dish of the country. Recommended 👌

Pollo a la Barsa  : We had a quarter grilled chicken which was served with french fries , salsa and two signature dips of which one was a green chilly spicy dip and the other being something close to a honey mustard dip. The chicken was tender and had all the juices intact. The pollo a la barsa chicken is grilled to perfection in the grills that are specially brought in from Peru and can grill up-to 30 chicken pieces at a time, no compromise on taste or quality. Recommended 👌

Desserts:
Chocolate Cake : For every chocolate lover who cannot imagine desserts without chocolate . The chocolate cake at Highway 311 grill is a layered chocolate cake moist and very fudgey in taste its topped with a caramel sauce and cherry.Recommended 👌
Chocolate Cake
Crema Volteada De Quinoa: A Latino version of a caramel custard also called a flan the twist in this dish is that Quinoa has been very cleverly incorporated in the dessert with a hint of nutmeg that breaks through the sweetness. Recommended 👌

I finished my meal with a hot cup of Lavazza latte served with a heart and a latte art :) That almost rhymed 😛
Cafe Latte
Cards & Cash : Both are accepted

Take Away: Highway 311 Grill has a dedicated zomato account you can place your orders online and they do deliveries , if you have a query on the location i do suggest you call them.

Parking: RTA Parking available.

Ambiance: The restaurant has got a very Latino feel to it with the decor being simple and very rustic in feel . Easy and appealing to the eye . I loved the wall hangings of nicely done wooden plaques something i would incorporate in my own kitchen 😁. They have board games for kids to keep the little ones occupied too.

Customer Service: A big High five to Mr. Veer who manages the daily running and administration of the restaurant, took us through the menu and gave us a brief of Peruvian Cuisine. Veer gave us a small brief of the restaurant and how did Highway 311 grill come about and their future plans to open up another outlet in Sharjah. A second mention to Mr. Nilesh who served us our meals and made sure we knew what we were eating with the right pronunciation of the dish , mind you i almost thought he was a Peruvian national , the meals were brought on time and we were not kept waiting the service was on time and he knows his menu well 😊

Reason to visit Highway 311 Grill : The food is the star right from the drink to the desserts. The chef needs a high five and a mention . The food is light and easy on the tummy and your pocket but high on taste and freshness. I would recommend you having the Ceviche , as its the national dish of Peru and its on their menu :) and everything I tried.
